Noble Story Accelerator

A program designed to help creators turn good, true, and beautiful ideas into a sellable screenplay in only 8 weeks.

This is an online, 8-week intensive program. You will be paired with an accomplished screenwriter who will work one-on-one with you to help break your story, find the emotional hook, sharpen character motivations, and give feedback and notes. You will also be part of Inklings-style peer review sessions, where your fellow participants and mentors will help shape your story into its best possible form.

The Program

the opportunity

At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to sign a shopping agreement with Noble Story Co. and take your project to potential buyers and partners such as Universal Pictures Content Group, Zero Gravity Management, and more.

When you exit the program, you will learn how to:

  • Understand what executives and literary managers are looking for in a screenplay, and write a compelling script that gets reads.

  • An industry-standard pitch deck that demands attention (hint: that Stranger Things deck is not actually a pitch deck).

  • Build a list of comparable films and be able to pitch “the case” for your film.

  • Leverage LinkedIn and IMDb Pro to network and score solicited submissions.

What else do you get?

This program will not be easy, and the application and selection process will be equally challenging. This course emphasizes quality, so there are only six positions available.

The application will ask important questions about your story — the same questions Noble asks about each project we acquire. Even if your project isn’t admitted to the program, this application will give you valuable insight that you can use to strengthen your story.

Frequently asked questions

  • The deadline for applications is April 26th, 2024.

Selected projects will be announced May 1st.

The 8-week program runs May 6th through June 28th, 2024

  • Expect to spend a minimum of 20 hours per week on this program. The majority of those hours will be flexible according to your schedule, where you will be writing, reading and providing notes on fellow participants’ screenplays, and creating other required materials.

You can expect two scheduled video calls per week, one for the entire team at the beginning of each week, and the other for you and your story guide which can be scheduled at your convenience.

Some of the video calls may last for several hours.

This is an intense accelerator program — the more time you can give, the better your resulting project will be at the end of the program.

  • Our story guides are still being recruited, but include a professional screenwriter who has a high-profile film set up at STX Entertainment, and a producer who has developed and packaged multiple independent films.

  • Yes. The program tuition is $2500 and will be invoiced upon acceptance into the program.

There is a non-refundable $100 application fee per submission. For projects accepted into the program, the application fee will be applied toward your tuition.

  • All projects must be submitted by midnight on April 26th.

  • You will be asked to answer several questions about your project, including:

    • Working title

    • Genre

    • Logline

    • Synopsis

    • Description of the main characters

    • A biography of yourself

    • And more

Most importantly, you will be asked “why.” Why this story, why you, and why now? You will need to present a compelling case for why this project deserves the immense investment of time and money it will require to get on the screen.

If your project has a script, pitch deck, synopsis, or other creative materials, we may reach out to you and ask you to send them to our review team.

  • Yes. In order to apply and qualify for the program, you must meet the following requirements:

    • Have a story or screenplay for a feature length film (no TV series, short films, or documentaries) that meets the content requirements.

    • This isn’t a screenwriting class, so you need to be knowledgeable about screenwriting and story structure.

    • Be familiar with an industry standard screenwriting program (Final Draft, Fade In, Celtx, etc.)

    • Be able to commit at least 20 hours per week during the program.

    • Be familiar with a graphic design platform for creating a pitch deck (i.e., Google Slides, PowerPoint, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).

    • Have access to high speed internet for video sessions and pitch meetings.

  • Yes! You can submit as many as you want. But keep in mind projects are chosen based on their creative merits - submitting more projects does not raise your odds of being accepted, and only one project from each filmmaker can be accepted.

  • You remain the sole owner of the story rights including the script, pitch deck, any other materials developed during this program.

If you choose to sign a shopping agreement with Noble Story Co., customary terms will apply.
